Properly stored digital files will outlast DVDs significantly. A DVD-R disc, which is what most transfer services used, has an estimated lifespan of anywhere from 25 to 100 years depending on storage conditions, and that's assuming it's been kept somewhere cool, dry, and dark. In practice, a lot of discs are already showing degradation well short of that. A digital file stored in multiple places (cloud storage, an external hard drive, and a USB drive, for example) has no practical expiry date. Once we convert your DVDs, we'd always recommend keeping copies in at least two separate locations.
